One of the most distinctive properties that make copper indispensable in industry is its electrical conductivity, which is enhanced to the desired level through electrolytic refining. At ER-BAKIR, refining is performed using methods traditionally recognized in the industry.

 

Blister copper and suitable scrap copper, sourced both locally and internationally, are melted in a Thomas furnace.

While copper is melted in the Thomas furnace, it emits a striking green flame. Liquid copper, poured into anode molds, solidifies into a form suitable for loading into tankhouse cells for electrolysis. The recycling of electrolytic copper scrap from various production stages back into the refining facility demonstrates the superior recyclability of copper.
